Here are a few tips to keep your feet feeling happy and looking their summer best.
Barefoot with Care
It's sooo incredibly tempting to go barefoot everywhere. Grass feels so cushy. You want to be ready to just jump in the pool, so why wear your shoes while around it? It all sounds delightful, but it can also be a problem. Fungus, viruses, splinters, bacteria and more lurk in moist warm areas. Wear supportive, light shoes. Or, at the very least, make sure to wash AND dry your feet well when you come in.
Although you may want the soles of your feet to be a little tough if you like to go barefoot, you don't want them so rough that they get cracked or dried. This is particularly a problem for heals. One of the best things you can do is give your feet a good soak. It not only help soften the rough spots, it helps your feet and whole body feel better and more relaxed. Our Mintingle Toes foot scrub is designed to be used as both a soak and a scrub. After you've soothed your tired feet and revived your spirit, dry everything thoroughly.
Massage With Ease
Walking, jogging, biking, dancing - it makes your feet tired and sore. A simple massage can relax them, and it doesn't have to be fancy or expensive. One method is to take a tennis ball and roll it over your foot, take extra time with tense areas. Another method is to take a can and place it on the floor. Put your foot in it and roll it back and forth.
Remember to Moisturize
Keeping your feet smooth requires a pinch of TLC. A nice moisturizer with a good base like our Lotion Bars or better still, our Muscle Rubs. These will keep the skin soft, healthy and smooth. A favorite it to apply right before bed. It give time for the lotion to settle in to your skin - and it makes the sheets smell great.
Keeping your feet healthy and smooth is more than just a summer activity, it's also important for your overall well being. So let them out to enjoy the summer - but keep them safe, too.
